A clean and economical energy

Solar thermal energy consists of the generation of electricity from solar radiation. Thermal fluids are heated by means of the concentration of the sun’s rays. The heat accumulated enables the generation of steam and electricity through the movement of a turbine.

The energy generated is fed into the grid, thus giving rise to a premium and the generation of annual profits for the developer.

Among renewable energies, this technology offers one of the lowest costs per kWh produced. This factor will lead to significant growth in coming years and see this source position itself as one of the leading clean energies in the national energy mix.

GRUPOTEC has developed construction projects and obtained environmental authorisation for 11 parabolic trough thermoelectrical solar energy plants in the regions of Extremadura, Castile - La Mancha and Andalusia, with a total power of 400 MW.
